The highly acclaimed ABOUTFACE program is being offered again beginning in February, 2017!

Free workshops are being offered by the Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County and Contra Costa Veterans Service for veterans in all services in Contra Costa County. A Veterans Initiative in the Arts grant from the California Arts Council will make possible six workshops offered throughout the county. These free workshops, titled ABOUT FACE: Building Veterans’ Self-understanding through Self-expression, will engage veterans in the act of art making.

Six four-hour painting workshops facilitated by a veteran and taught by experienced artists will take place between February and March at selected Contra Costa Libraries. These workshops and all materials are FREE OF COST to all Contra Costa County Veterans because of the support from the County and State. A gallery showing of the work will be presented to the public in the Fall.
