Lesher Center for the Arts
Join us for an in-person Rebuilding Lives Event at the beautiful Lesher Center for the Arts featuring keynote speaker, Stephanie Land.
Don’t miss the opportunity to come together with local community leaders and fellow supporters of STAND!’s mission to break the inter-generational cycle of domestic violence as we honor and celebrate 30 years of Rebuilding Lives.
Stephanie Land’s best selling debut memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive details her experiences fleeing a domestic violence relationship with her infant daughter and their harrowing journey navigating safety nets, government assistance, and the “poverty trap”. After years of struggle, Land graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Montana and began her career as a writer. Maid was named a Notable Book of the Year by the New York Times and The Washington Post and was included on President Obama’s summer reading list for 2019. Land’s memoir also served as the inspiration for Netflix’s Golden Globe and Emmy nominated original series, Maid.
Reception: 3:00-4:00, Event: 4:00-6:00pm.
