Summer months are quickly approaching and since shortages of all blood types happen during the summer and winter holidays, the City of Orinda and the American Red Cross are working together, again, to beat those odds.
On Saturday, June 13 the Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross. The drive will be held in the Orinda Community Center Founder’s Auditorium located at 28 Orinda Way, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Individuals who are interested in donating are encouraged to schedule an appointment online though donors do not need an appointment to participate. To schedule an appointment, donors may visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code Orinda or may call 1-800 RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
