Carquinez Model Railroad Society’s Open House, June 22-23

Date(s) – 06/22/2024 – 06/23/2024
10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Informational Gathering

Summer’s here and schools out! Time to get out and see the scenery and trains! You can go trackside to
watch the BNSF, UP, and Amtrak trains, or you can see a lot more trains with a lot more variety in less time at the Carquinez Model Railroad Society’s Open House June 22-23 from 10 AM to 4 PM both days. We’re
located at 645 Loring Avenue in Crockett across from C&H Sugar.

For June we also have our Garage Sale with hundreds of gently used, mostly HO scale, items for sale. All
proceeds go to help support the Society, its railroad, and ongoing rehabilitation of the building (pretty cool paint job on the exterior, right?). Plus, our new branch line will be operating as well!
The Crockett Toy Train Operating Museum (CTTOM), located in the same building upstairs, will also be open
at the same hours. Visit CTTOM on-line at www.cttom.org.

Come and enjoy the artistry and craftsmanship! Try our Scavenger Hunt!
Our 36′ x 60′ HO scale model railroad (on three levels!) depicts the Southern Pacific/Union Pacific railroad from Oakland, across the Sierra Nevada mountains, to Sparks, NV. Our railroad allows you to walk alongside the trains as they journey from Oakland, up through Berkeley and Richmond, over to Crockett and Martinez, and across the bridge to Fairfield. From there, it’s a trip up the stairs – the trains use a helix – to Davis, and on to Sacramento and Colfax. From there you wind your way across the Sierras arriving in Sparks, NV.

The trip is great, the scenery and detail are fantastic, our members are friendly, we’re happy to answer your questions, and you only need to come to Crockett! Make a day of it and check out Crockett and enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants. We’re looking forward to seeing you! And don’t forget to check out our Gift Shop!

Model railroading is a great hobby! Think of it as a social multi-player role playing kinetic art form. We
welcome new members and offer Youth, Senior, and Family memberships. Ask a member for more
information. Membership has its rewards!

Admission to CMRS is $5, with those under 16 free when accompanied by an adult. Visit us on-line at
www.cmrstrainclub.org. Admission to the CTTOM is also $5, with those under 16 free when accompanied by
an adult.

We hope to see you on the 22nd or 23rd!

And if you can’t make this Open House, we’ll also be having Open Houses on August 24-25, September 14,
October 26-27, and December 7-8, 2024.
