As we reported when we first got wind of it this evening, two men were arrested after an aborted kidnap/carjacking in the 2500 block of N. Main Street in Walnut Creek Saturday.

The pair, William and Emmanuel Hleza, both 20, of Pittsburg, allegedly approached a man in his car in the area at 5:42 p.m., opened the front passenger and driver’s side doors and attempted to drag the driver out of his car, kicking him in the stomach in the process. The pair fled when a Good Samaritan intervened, according to police.

Officers arrived within minutes and located the suspects running along Third Avenue, as we Flashed our readers at the time. The Hleza’s were eventually found hiding on Cameo Court and were taken into custody at gunpoint.

Both were arrested for attempted carjacking, kidnapping, and conspiracy and were transported to the county jail in Martinez on $350,000 bail each. No weapons were involved, according to police. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

  1. I lock my doors when I’m in my car. Mainly cuz I don’t want to fall out, but good safety practice, too.

  2. Hmmm, seems as though the misguided yutes are not in MDF per a search. Where could they possibly be??? Oh, neither is Jacari McKinney.

  3. I guess that’s considered brotherly togetherness nowadays.
What da ya wanna bet that they’ve done this before and have just been let go…..and are doing it again? My patience with criminals and the liberal politicians that are protecting & supporting them has warn paper thin!

  4. Think we saw part of this as it was happening yesterday but we had no idea what was behind it. Thanks for the info!
