Administrators at California High School in San Ramon invoked lockdown protocols for the campus Wednesday after a phone threat from an individual believed to have called on a disguised or “spoofed” phone line.

As in another recent incident at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, Wednesday’s threat coincided with others received at other schools both in and out of the country.

Students were ushered out of their classrooms and gathered in an open space per their protocols as local police, with support elements from outlying jurisdictions, swept the school for the mentioned threats.

Nothing was reportedly found during the early phases of the search but school officials are believed to be releasing students for the day.
