Model Train Open House And Show, Jan. 14 & 15

Date(s) – 01/14/2023 – 01/15/2023
11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Walnut Creek Model Railroad Society

SATURDAY/SUNDAY – Jan 14 & 15, 2023 – (11:00AM – 6:00PM)

Join us for our “Weekend Open House and Train Show”. Our permanent H.O. scale layout is one of the most mountainous in the United States, with over 4,400 feet of track covering an area of 1,900 square feet and climbing to an elevation of four feet. Our members operate many unique freight and passenger trains from days past when steam was king.

Visit the towns of “Port Allen”, with its busy seaport, naval ships and operating bascule bridge, “Diablo” to view our expansive freight sorting “hump” yard, “Olympia” to view operations of the electric trolley system, and “Thompson Flat” and view the narrow gauge railway as it ascends to the alpine rack railway. We are located in Larkey Park opposite the newly renovated Larkey Pool and within a short walk of the Lindsay Wildlife Experience. We were declared the “Best Man-Cave in the Bay Area” by NBC-11.

For more information, call (925) 937-1888, visit our website, or email us: publicity@wcmrs.org. “Follow / Like Us” on Facebook (www.facebook.com/wcmrs).

  1. This is a really fun local event, inexpensive outing for all ages. They have risers along the viewing rails so little kids can get a better view, there is a lot to see, it’s a big place, nice folks who volunteer there. I’m a bit biased, my husband was a life member, still have lots of friends there. Go and make some memories. Larkey Park is right there for blowing off outdoor energy, too.
