Good Guys To The Rescue After Clayton Bike Breakdown Monday

There are a lot of threads in our lives, most of them go unrecorded. Longtime readers here know we like to bring some of them into focus when we can – good and bad.

This moment was frozen by Rob Brownell this morning on Marsh Creek Road in downtown Clayton, around 8:30 a.m. to be specific, when Brownell and others noted a young man sitting on the curb working on his apparently malfunctioning bicycle.

Rob and others were moving in for the assist when the cavalry, in the shape and form of a Clayton PD car, rolled up with the officer getting out to lend a hand. A few minutes later Rob says a Clayton Public Works truck also pulled up and in a short time the youngster was back on his way to school.

“I said ‘Great job’ to the officer, and he gave (me) a wave and a big smile,” Rob reports. “I am sure those are the calls they enjoy, truly being the public servant able to help someone.”

Yep. We think so, too. Thanks, Rob, and to the other key players in this morning’s moment.
