Pedestrian Killed In Dublin Sunday; Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

A Dublin woman walking in the 6200 block of Dougherty Road was struck and killed by a driver subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Sunday night.

Police said Roni Gage, 39, was hit by a man, later identified as Giovanni Fissore, 42, as she was walking in the area at approximately 10 p.m. Fissore remained at the scene following the collision. Lifesaving measures were undertaken but Gage was declared deceased and Fissore arrested.

The victim’s identity was not released pending notification of family members.

  1. Yet another fatal vehicle vs pedestrian MVA in our neighborhood with DUI involvement. One such episode is one too many. Tragic and completely avoidable, which in and of itself heightens the tragedy.
