A 32-year-old man aboard a motorcycle on Ygnacio Valley between Crystyl Ranch Drive and Cowell roads was killed early Sunday in a collision with a car driven by a juvenile male, a passing ambulance crew coming across the scene at about 1:20 a.m.

Police arrived to investigate the cause of the collision shortly after it was reported, the driver of the passenger car remaining at the scene and cooperating with investigators. Alcohol or drugs were not detected and it was not believed either were in his system at the time of the collision.

The unidentified motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. It was not immediately known if alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash as lab tests are still forthcoming.

Ygnacio Valley Road was closed to traffic for several hours following the incident.

  1. I feel very sorry for the juvenile. Having an experience like this will follow him for the rest of his life. From the scant details it sounds as if it wasn’t the young drivers fault.

    • Exactly right. My friend hit a man crossing the freeway in Hawaii and never got over it. Hopefully the young man will get some counseling.

    • The teen driver was coming home from his Senior Ball. He was rear ended by the motorcyclist driving at an excessive speed. Please pray for the two families involved. They are both shaken and grieving!
