Pleasanton Car Burglary Precedes Danville Burglary, Chase Wednesday

At about 10:18 a.m. Wednesday Pleasanton Police responded to a report of a car burglary at Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, determining that a garage door clicker for an address in the 1800 block of Ridgeland Circle in Danville was among the items taken.

Pleasanton Police alerted the Danville Police department of a potential burglary in their city and Danville officers were dispatched to the address, finding that it had been burglarized. A neighbor who witnessed the burglary was able to give Danville Police a description of the suspect’s vehicle, a 2021 gray Honda Civic, and a chase ensued when Danville officers spotted the Honda leaving the neighborhood.

Officers attempted stop the car as it ran south on I-680, the driver yielding for a moment before fleeing south again.

Danville officers, with the assistance of units from the Contra Costa County Sheriff, pursued the Honda south on I-680 until it crashed at the Bernal Avenue offramp. Police said two suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a surrounding neighborhood.

The suspects were later arrested after being located in the area attempting to catch a rideshare.

Stolen property from both the auto burglary in Pleasanton and the residential burglary in Danville were recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.

No other information, such as the suspect’s names or hometowns, was given.
