SHARE

This afternoon at about 2:56, Blackhawk Deputy Sheriffs responded to a home on East Ridge Court regarding a woman who was in a swimming pool and was not breathing.

When the deputy arrived, he was told a child, who had also been in the pool, was already en route to San Ramon Regional Medical Center (SRRMC).

An adult female was being attended to by fire personnel in the backyard and later transported to SRRMC.

They were both later pronounced deceased at the hospital. They are not being identified at this time.

It was not revealed if the pair were related in any way or what, if any, activity was underway at the time of the drownings.

The Office of the Sheriff is conducting an investigation into the deaths. At this point, it does not appear suspicious and there are no signs of foul play.

  1. Maybe I’m wrong but I think the only way someone drowns in a swimming pool is they don’t know how to swim or some medical event incapacitates them? Child gets into the pool, mom who doesn’t know how to swim jumps in to save the child? Either way this is heartbreaking and sad…

    • I have heard of sad cases where lights and things were not grounded properly and lead to electrocution / drowning. Other than that I’d guess someone someone stuck in the filter intake in the pool and the other person tried to help them free themselves both drowning.

** If this ever happens you need to turn off the breaker for the pool IMMEDIATELY. You will not be able to free someone with the sucking force still on.

      Very sad.
