A man ejected from his truck and seriously injured in a crash on Highway 4 Monday morning later died of his injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to reports of a crash in the westbound lanes of SR4 east of Mc Ewen Road at approximately 10:45 a.m. and found an overturned white Ford Ranger on its roof with its driver ejected into the middle lanes of traffic.

The unidentified driver was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

There were no other reported injuries. Investigators blocked off at least one lane of traffic until all lanes reopened just before 12:25 p.m.

    • As are you, but maybe try a little kindness, this was someone’s son, maybe dad, husband, brother, friend

      • This was a choice, his choice, and it is symptomatic of a greater sickness. What about his thoughtlessness, his disregard for those he leaves behind. Maybe he was ok with that. I’m fine with pointing out the sad lesson in it.
