Police in Concord are looking into the death of a 14-year-old Concord High School student found dead in her home Saturday – possibly after ingesting a pill of unknown origin.
Police added a picture of the pill in question to their announcement, saying it “may be similar” to the one taken by the girl.
Police reminded residents to only ingest pills or medications prescribed by their doctor as counterfeit products containing toxic substances – such as Fentanyl – have been found and can be fatal, even in small doses.
The student who died in this instance had been in school at Concord High for only a week before she procured the drug, family said.
Anyone with information on this case or the pill in question is encouraged to call Detective Cartwright at (925) 603-5829 or our anonymous tip-line at (925) 603-5836, referencing case #21-8159.
