Rescue crews have launched boats and are searching the waters near the dam at Lake Del Valle in Livermore for a man who reportedly entered the water from a boat in the area and did not surface.

Rescue divers and craft from the Alameda County Fire Water Rescue unit were searching the area where the male swimmer was last seen entering the water while the East Bay Regional Park District’s Eagle 7 helicopter orbited overhead.

The incident was reported shortly after 5 p.m. The search effort was discontinued as darkness fell and is expected to resume Monday morning.
