Man Shot On Highway 4 In Pittsburg Thursday

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a possible freeway shooting reported in the area of eastbound Highway 4 on the Railroad Avenue offramp Thursday.

The victim, an adult male in his twenties, was driving a blue 2018 Honda Accord when he was hit in the neck at approximately 8:30 p.m. He was transported to John Muir Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound but is expected to survive, according to police.

Police said they don’t believe the shooting was a random incident. No information was provided regarding a suspect or suspect vehicle.

  1. Of course it wasn’t random. It’s gang related, and according to one poster — no one should be in fear. Tell that to the innocent family members. Or innocent people driving in the area at night that could’ve been shot and killed.

  2. Another shooting on Highway 4 — 1:12 a.m. The third in five days. Highway 4 between Concord and Pittsburg/Antioch is a war zone. Drive at you own risk.
