Applications for spring program available online

Danville residents wanting to know more about Danville Police Department operations will once again have the opportunity with the return of the Danville Police Citizens Academy.  The multi-week course provides residents with a view inside the PD and how law enforcement operates.

The program had been put on hiatus as are result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the movement of Contra Costa County and the continuing easing of health restrictions, the police will begin holding the classes once again.  The spring session is tentatively set to begin April 28, 2021.

With the changing restrictions based around COVID-19, the format for the class is in the process of being formulated. It is expected to be largely virtual, with the possibility for in-person classes depending on pandemic restrictions.

For those interested in taking part in the next Citizens Police Academy, applications can be found online at https://www.danville.ca.gov/541/Citizens-Police-Academy.
