Highway Patrol Seeks Witnesses To Fatal Pedestrian Collision In El Sobrante

California Highway Patrol investigators are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on San Pablo Dam Road in El Sobrante Thursday.

Officers determined that a Toyota Corolla driven by a 23-year-old San Pablo man had struck a 76-year-old Berkeley man on eastbound San Pablo Dam Road east of May Road at approximately 7:25 a.m.

The driver was not injured and remained on scene. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

Alcohol or drug impairment are not suspected in this incident but it is still under investigation, investigators said.
