The Museum of the San Ramon Valley is open with trains running through the depot until April 11!
We are excited to let you know that The Museum of the San Ramon Valley has reopened!
To celebrate this reopening we’ll have our model trains exhibit. This exhibit is one of the most popular we have for young and old alike. Multiple trains running through authentic models of the town of Danville and the old Village of San Ramon. Fun for the entire family!
In honor of our reopening we are offering Train Passes for $15.00. This will entitle you to visit the trains exhibit as often as you wish. The train exhibit will return in the summer and you can still use your pass!!!
The museum is in support of the county Covid19 precautions. Please wear a mask when visiting the museum. Observe a minimum of six feet of social distance between you and other visitors and staff during your visit. We will have limited capacity as per county restrictions. Your safety is our primary focus.

Look, I’m as average as any heterosexual guy you will meet, and I don’t get the toy train fascination. They can’t fly. They can’t even go outdoors. Balls that bounce…tennis, soccer, basketball, football…those are toys. Building blocks, legos are creative indoor toys. Is this some sort of 1950s marketing program that survives to this day or is this serving some sort of deeeep pyschosexual need that I just don’t comprehend? Inquiring minds need to know. And, for your edification, “young and old alike” are not interested in this. This seems to be the realm of adults from the 1950’s and 1960’s and anyone they can drag along with them to the exhibit.
I want to say one word to you. Just one word. Rockets.
We like rockets, too. But we still think trains are cool and that Freud was way off about the locomotive and tunnel thing…
Yeah, I was having a little fun, but I do think this is a generational phenomenon. Go take Grandpa to the exhibit…because he will love it!! (present Grandpa excluded)
