Sheriff’s Office Investigating Murder In Tara Hills Sunday

Deputy Sheriff’s dispatched to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex at San Pablo Avenue and Crestwood Drive in the Tara Hills neighborhood of West Contra Costa County at about 12:39 p.m. on Sunday arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound in a nearby car.

Deputies began life-saving measures on the wounded man but he was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

He was subsequently identified as 30-year-old Charles Johnson of San Francisco.

Autopsy results released Monday determined that Johnson had died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing.
