The Diablo Symphony’s first on-line auction will be held from September 19 through September 26. – auction can be accessed through the DSO website at https://www.diablosymphony.org/dso-online-fundraiser-auction-sep-19-26/.
Proceeds will help support the orchestra’s various activities, including performances (virtual and live), educational programs, including free family concerts, and its annual Young Artists Competition. Auction items are now posted for pre-auction review, including the always popular opportunities to go on stage to conduct the orchestra or join the percussion section during a future “live” concert. Certificates for restaurants, golf, wine tastings and chiropractic visits are offered, as are ensemble concerts at your home or business, wines, elegant cakes, artwork, crocheted blankets, holiday face masks (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and or Hanukkah, Valentine’s Day) and a two-person 72 hour emergency kit are also available. Bidding opens at 8 am on Saturday, September 19 and closes at 11:30 pm on Saturday, September 26. Winning bidders will receive a notice and request for payment by credit card shortly after the auction closes. Depending on the item’s nature, it will be mailed to your home address or held for pick-up at a location near downtown Walnut Creek. All are encouraged to register on the auction website early so that items can be bid upon once the auction opens. It isn’t necessary to provide credit card information when registering, although this information will need to be added when you wish to place bids.
Fundraising dollars greatly help the orchestra reach and uphold its mission “to perform classical music, provide educational programs, and offer performing opportunities to local musicians, thus enriching the lives and cultural climate of our community”.
