Pedestrian Killed On Highway 24 Near Fish Ranch Early Saturday

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car vs. pedestrian collision on eastbound Highway 24 east of Fish Ranch Road early Saturday morning.

Officers and firefighters were called to the scene at around 3 a.m. and a victim was found in the area. Life-saving measures were undertaken without success, and the unidentified victim was declared deceased a short time later.

Preliminary indications were that the victim was walking in the middle lanes of the freeway when they were struck and killed.

    • I would suggest it falls victim to the problems of other freeway with the same problem – speed and sightlines.

    • Another fatality? Yes, second one on the Castro Valley side of the county line on Crow Canyon outside San Ramon.
