GoFundMe Page Started For Area Rancher Hit Hard By Friday’s Fire In Rodeo

SHARE

Nick Compaglia is an East Bay local rancher who’s leased barn burned to the ground last night – the fire claiming the life of a favored horse and severely burning another.

His many friends say he lost all his tack for his ranch horses, feed, equipment including a quad and trailer he used to feed his horses and cattle.

The surviving horse is currently in critical condition at UC Davis Veterinary Hospital with bills for IV fluids, pain meds and antibiotics to fight off infection likely to add up quickly.

Nick also lost a barn full of tools, and meds used to treat everyday livestock ailments. He does not have insurance to replace anything.

His friends say Nick “treats kids like they are his own” and that he would “give you the shirt off his back.”

If you could spare a few dollars or perhaps some feed or tack, it would be appreciated. If you can’t donate, please share this post.

  1. I wish this man well, but there are probably 200 million people suffering in just this rich country right now from lack of a living wage or lack of affordable/accessible health care or lack of adequate protection against fire or flood. You cannot GoFundMe out of this crisis. Pulling one man out of the water onto a sinking ship is the right thing to do, but it doesn’t change the outcome.

  2. I hope the injured horses are under Jaime Payton’s care. She did amazing things for pets and livestock burn victims from the Campfire. She had a very good rate of success employing a process she developed that uses Talapia fish skin grafts to bandage serious burns on animals.

Please let me know if there is any way I can help you through the aftermath of this fire.
