Five people escaped a fast-moving fire at a residence on Whispering Oaks Lane in Blackhawk early Friday – firefighters eventually calling for a 2-Alarm response before the blaze could be controlled.
Two cats, family pets, were killed in the blaze.
Firefighters from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District responded to a call for help from the area of 4140 Whispering Oaks at approximately 5:07 a.m. – and were met by heavy smoke and fire from the home’s garage. That fire was apparently able to spread into the attic area of the residence.
Five people, awakened by alarms, fled the residence and escaped harm.
