New Suspect, Victim Information Released In Pleasanton Homicide

Pleasanton police Friday identified the victim of a fatal, April 15 stabbing in the parking lot of the Hyatt House Hotel as Jackson Reese Butler, 19, of Pleasanton.

Investigators said Butler was staying at the hotel and went out to the parking lot to meet with persons unknown on the night of his murder. An altercation ensued and Butler was stabbed several times, according to police. Detectives are investigating the possibility of drug sales activity, but this motive has not yet been confirmed.

The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect #1 – Black male, 16-20 years old, 5’6”, skinny build, wearing a grey beanie and black sweats.
Suspect #2 – Black male, 16-20 years old, 5’8”, medium build, round face and wearing a black hooded
sweatshirt.
