With it’s bustling downtown shopping district Walnut Creek has not proven immune from the problem, the city’s police devoting both officers and equipment to their anti-crime effort.

The photos here are representative of one successful interdiction effort, with officers stopping this car at around 2 p.m. on February 19 and having a talk with its four occupants.

The police say the four eventually confessed to stealing $2,700 worth of clothing and other items from a store in Broadway Plaza, which was recovered as shown.
