Lafayette Wells Fargo Branch Robbed Wednesday

A lone thief handed a note demanding money to a clerk at the Wells Fargo Bank branch at 3630 Mt. Diablo Boulevard Wednesday, walking out of the bank with an undetermined amount of cash.

The man, described as an Hispanic male wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt and pants walked into the bank at approximately 3:45 p.m.

Police are on the scene and actively searching the downtown area for sign of the suspect.

  1. It’s not safe inside. That’s where all that money is. Always use the ATM and take your terrier. It’s common sense.

  2. Was he greeted at the door? I always like it when a corporate malefactor, such as my bank, has an employee greet me at the door with a smile. I have seldom been at a Walmart, but it always warms the cockels of my heart to receive a corporate greeting at the door. I am simple in that respect. However, I do regret how his request for an unauthorized withdrawal was treated. That was also treated with a corporate smile and, as always, attention to the bottom line. The company lawyers know that there’s always more money where that came from. It came from me. It came from you.
