Lafayette turned out to celebrate the first night of Chanukah Sunday, getting some high-profile assistance from Mayor Mike Anderson and local firefighters – who turned out to surprise lucky children in attendance with a chocolate coin drop.

More than 200 people came together for the Menorah lighting with the mayor and other local dignitaries turning out to share a few words and their hope that light can dispel past darkness through ever-increasing acts of goodness and kindness.

Nice! Hoping for a better year ahead. More faith and kindness always helps.
