UPDATED information from Danville Police Chief Allan Shields:

On November 25, 2019, at approximately 1900, an undercover Danville Officer was working burglary suppression in the Black Bear Diner and Rose Garden Center parking lots located at Camino Ramon and Sycamore Valley Road.  The officer saw a person, later identified as Elena Wilson, 30, Pleasant Hill, look into several parked vehicles as she walked through the parking lots.

When a marked patrol unit drove into the parking lot, Wilson hid from officers and then led them on a vehicle pursuit northbound onto I-680 before abandoning the vehicle she was driving and fleeing on foot in the area of I-680 and El Pintado Road.  An extensive search of the area was conducted by officers, assisted by deputies from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, a CHP helicopter, and a Danville K9 unit, but Wilson was not located.

On November 26, 2019, at 0900, Danville Officers received several calls from neighbors and gardeners in the area of Hap Magee Ranch Park about a suspicious person.  With the assistance of deputies from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, deputies located Wilson in the parking lot of the Alamo Square Shopping Center in Alamo.  Wilson was taken into custody and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility on a warrant for violating her parole, resisting arrest, evading officers in a vehicle, and possession of burglary tools.

I would like to thank all the community members who called in and reported seeing a suspicious person.  It is due to the reports that officers and deputies were able to pinpoint the location of Wilson and take her into custody.  With the rise in property crimes in the San Ramon Valley area, it is important for criminals to know that the entire community is looking out for the safety and security of our neighborhoods.
