Do signs get heat stroke? Jumbled numbers at Clayton and Kirker Pass Road in Clayton. Photo: Lily Campanile

We’re presuming reader Lily Campanile was out looking for a fill-up when she came across this sign in Clayton today, the electronic display apparently suffering from the effects of heat exhaustion.

Humans are also falling victim to the heat as temperatures push to and past the century mark throughout the 24/680. We’ve heard of the gentleman who had commandeered the air/water island of his local service station, pants down around his ankles, and while we can see what he might do with the water hose what is he doing with the air?

While we humans are able to grab a quick shower or bath, duck inside for a quick ice cream or lemonade, machines like this one are forced to stand outside in withering heat for hours on end. Who can blame it for jumbling its numbers?

Just don’t ask us to pay those prices!
