Contra Costa County Fire Protection district firefighters are maneuvering to provide structure protection for homes in the area of Marchbanks Drive in Heather Farms Park as a grass fire burns in the area.
Firefighters reported the halt of the forward advance of the fire as well as threat to adjacent buildings at 2:23 p.m.
Walnut Creek police were advising motorists to avoid the area of Ygnacio Valley Road at Marchbanks due to traffic congestion and necessary detours.
