Citizen’s Call Leads To Pair Of Arrests In Walnut Creek On Memorial Day

Not everyone got Memorial Day off, apparently, as Walnut Creek police followed up on a citizen’s call of two suspicious vehicles in their neighborhood during the holiday – officers eventually hooking up this pair and locating items taken during an armed home invasion in Concord last week.

Police aren’t saying where the incident occurred but it appears officers made contact with Elena Wilson, 30, and William Getty, 36, in two cars, eventually locating drugs, tear gas, and property stolen during the Concord crime.

Personal information belonging to other suspected victims was also recovered, according to police, and both Wilson and Getty were arrested for “various charges.”

Both were placed on parole holds and transported to the Martinez Jail, according to police.

Walnut Creek police took the opportunity to remind neighbors to be extra vigilant over the summer holidays as neighbors are frequently out of town for extended periods and the bad guys know it.

  1. I guess Elena is the one with tatoo instead of goatee on face. Thank you Walnut Creek police! And thank you alert citizens. We all need to keep vigilant and report suspicious activity.

  2. I know crime is supposed to be down and all but it sure seems like there are a lot of these people out there.

  3. Interesting…is Elena spreading the good news?

11The scripture says, ‘No one who believes in him will be put to shame.’ 12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him. 13For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

14 But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? 15And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’ 16But not all have obeyed the good news;* for Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our message?’ 17So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.*

  4. Great job homeowner and police. They are cruising the neighborhood in separate cars and have stuff from other burglaries in the cars? It sounds like someone prevented another burglary.
