Danville Police are currently seeking Mark Allan Sypien, 51, in connection with the Sunday shooting death of Danville resident John Moore.

Police Chief Allan Shields said an arrest warrant for murder has been issued for Sypien in the incident. The suspect is described as a white male, 5’09”, 185 lbs, with grey hair and green eyes. His last known address is in the Dublin area.  He was last seen driving a 2003 Silver Ford Escape with Illinois license plate 1008122.

Sypien is suspected of shooting John Moore, 76, in the parking lot of 3470 Fostoria Way.

Anyone seeing Sypien should contact the police immediately. Anyone with information on Sypien’s whereabouts or any information on this case is urged to contact police at (925) 314-3702 or via Nixle by texting “Tip DanPD’ and your tip to 888777.

Ed. Note: Sypien is listed as having an address in Saint Charles, Illinois but has apparently lived and worked in the Danville/Walnut Creek area in past years.
