Investigators for the Contra Costa County division of the California Highway Patrol are seeking information about an injury accident involving one of their officers on southbound I680 in Alamo Wednesday.

Investigators said one of their motorcycle officers was making a traffic stop on a black Jaguar sedan on Livorna Road at about 8:02 am Wednesday when the two tangled while moving to the right shoulder.

A CHP Facebook post said the resulting collision was minor with minor damage only to the sedan and CHP Motorcycle. Their officer was taken to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, treated for his injuries and released. The driver of the Jaguar was not injured.

Investigators are asking witnesses to the collision, or anyone in the area at the time, to contact Contra Costa CHP in Martinez, (925) 646-4980, and ask for Officer Fuentez.

  1. The chp has been hit hard over the last few months — losing one officer to a DUI driver and almost losing another motorcycle officer. Looking forward to the day when we don’t see an officer with a black ribbon over his or her badge.
