At present all the smart money seems to be riding on “Meteor” as a plunging clove of light streaked across the night sky Wednesday – leaving a telltale… tail… in its wake.

  1. It is a meteor, called a bolide or a fireball. The apparent speed is primarily due to the angle of the path of the meteor compared to the observer. Think about a meteor that is coming directly at you. It will appear to be stationary and just getting brighter.

  2. Don’t be fooled. That was a Russian “weather balloon” settling down over a Sanctuary City.
