San Ramon Transient Finds Accommodation In Attic Of Local Bagel Business

Employees of Sunrise Bagels in San Ramon thought they were hearing things – or perhaps that they were facing a rather large pest control issue – when they began to notice something big stirring in the attic of their business Thursday.

Police were summoned after it became apparent something or someone had taken up residence under their roof.

Officers found a man who had apparently found a way inside the business and had established himself in the attic of the business.

“The subject is known to us,” said San Ramon Police Lt. Cary Goldberg. “He’s a local transient. We arrested him and booked him on a trespassing violation and probation violation.”

A bystander who happened by as the incident was unfolding could not help but be impressed by the alleged trespasser’s ingenuity.

“When you think about it, what better place can you think of to come in from out of the cold?” he said.
