Investigators in Walnut Creek are looking for a man they say caused a juvenile to fall from his scooter, making off with his cell phone while the youth was on the ground.
Police said the incident occurred Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. as the youth was riding west on Parkside Drive (south side of the street) near the intersection of Riviera Drive. A newer grey minivan was parked across the street facing westbound on Parkside Drive. Investigators say a black male exited the minivan and grabbed the juvenile from behind, grabbing his phone after the rider had fallen. The suspect then got back in the minivan and it fled northbound onto San Juan Avenue.
Police are seeking help from our community for witnesses, video surveillance footage, and/or any leads in identifying the suspects and minivan. Should you have any information pertaining to this case, please contact Detective Villa at 925-943-5844 ext. 2492 or Detective Sergeant Jower at 925-256-3582.
Hope they get him.
