We all know Orinda is a very friendly town, but we don’t think the City Founders had this in mind when they came up with a welcoming message for visitors.
Resident Greg Fulcher was out and on the prowl – for photos, sheesh, not the other thing – when he spotted this message on Lost Valley and Don Gabriel.
“Looks like someone (who either can’t spell or was too hurried to correct) is having some fun!,” Greg wrote, adding: “…it wasn’t me!”
We’ve had no confirmation of reports that visitation to this part of the city has tripled since this sign was first spotted.
Correction: Lost Valley Dr., not Valley View…
Coordinates updated… long lines of cars reported heading in that direction (we’re kidding, we’re kidding… c’mon, people!)
The sad part, Human Trafficking is rampant in the Bay Area. Happening all over for girls 13-18, American Girls. No lie.
I can’t speak for other Orindans, but this “sealed the deal” for us. Thanks for sharing Greg…
It reminds me of a night many years ago, driving along the Massachusetts Turnpike, when all of the digital signs said “YOU ALL SUCK!”. This was before smart phones, and I wish I had a photo of it. Also recently saw a stop sign that had a “Hammertime” sticker applied under the word STOP. In our old neighborhood in SF, someone painted “Z Z” on the pavement where the S had worn off the word STOP. Brilliant!
Liked the “Zombies Ahead” traffic trailers ourselves… that one had us on our toes.
