We’re not exactly sure why this is so hard for some neighbors. We’re all Californians and we’ve all been hit hard, directly or indirectly, by the fires sweeping our state in the last year.
When the “perfect storm” of high winds and fuel availability (i.e. stuff that burns) merge the folks who fight large infernos and small usually put out a warning for the rest of us to be careful lest we touch something off.
Most of us are pretty good about it, knowing what these fires can do. Some of us, however, either don’t get the message or don’t want to – burning those unwanted leaves or trash piles, taking the weed whacker or off-road vehicle out into all that dry, tall grass.
Don’t. For the good of all, just don’t.
