Police are searching for three men who battered a resident during the home-invasion-style robbery of a home on Evelyn Court in Alamo Thursday, surprising the victim outside the residence before leading him back into the home and taking several items at gunpoint.

Investigators said the victim told them several suspects wearing ski-masks and dark clothing approached him in the driveway of his home at around 9:30 p.m. Two were armed with handguns and demanded the keys to the house, police said. The victim was taken inside the residence at gunpoint and ordered to the floor while the suspects went through the house. The victim was struck with a wooden chair prior to the suspects leaving with some personal property, according to police.

The suspects are described as two black males and a white or hispanic male in their early 20s, two of them armed and all wearing ski masks.

Information that a car stolen during an armed carjacking in San Pablo was seen in the area around the time of the robbery could not be immediately confirmed. That car was believed to be a maroon Lexus.

  1. The victim was very lucky these three pieces of trash didn’t blow his head off on purpose or by accident. OTOH, being astute businessmen, the potential gain vs the slim likelihood of being caught and convicted with a suitable incarceration is minimal in this pathetic state. (re: Kate Steinle). OTOH, if the victim had been carrying a handgun openly or concealed carry, he’d prob get more jail time than the robbers.
