You’re at home, winds picking up, smoke and flames encroaching on the hacienda, and then things really get nutty as several small fires begin to merge – threatening homes and livestock – and you’re looking for a way out or for the cavalry to come.
And then, on the horizon, only missing the signature Ride of the Valkyrie soundtrack, comes the sound of rotor blades and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s chopper STARR 3 – which, when they’re not busy searching for bad guys and rescuing hikers, do this kind of thing.
Some pretty nifty flying given conditions and while they were not the only air crew out there yesterday it is evident they did a lot of good.
If you were aboard or know the air crew and want to give them a tip of the 25-Mission flight cap, go right ahead in COMMENTS.
“Cattle don’t surf!”
“Run Flosssssiiiieee!”
That’s awesome.
Think I got a little air sick there.
Didn’t catch any scuba divers in the bucket I hope! Google urban legends.
Always wanted to fly one of those things.
Pretty cool.
