A number of crashes up and down our namesake 24/680 Corridor kept emergency crews and tow trucks busy Wednesday, creating some memorable moments for involved drivers but no serious or lasting injury as far as we could determine.

The pictured crash, reported just after 2 p.m. in the eastbound direction of Highway 24 in Central Lafayette, quickly brought traffic in the slow lanes to a halt and backed cars up past the Caldecott as firefighters attempted to reach the scene.

It is believed that two people were treated for injuries suffered in the rollover crash. Initial reports that someone was trapped in the wreckage turned out to be false as the occupants are believed to have made their way out of the wreckage on their own.

The crash was part of a steady series of collisions up and down highways 680 and 24 over the course of the day.
