Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials and visiting dignitaries will be on hand for a golden shovel moment marking construction of the district’s newest station house on Los Arabis Road in Lafayette.
Administrators say Station 16’s positioning will help improve response times to hilly, fire-vulnerable sectors in the area.
A groundbreaking ceremony has been scheduled for 4 p.m. on April 11 at the construction site with Fire Chief Jeff Carman, County Board of Supervisors District II Supervisor Candace Andersen and Lafayette Mayor Don Tatzin on hand to mark the day.
