During a time not so long ago military aircraft and ships were a commonplace sight in the skies and waterways around the Bay Area – but not so much any more.
So when a squadron of military helicopters enters our air space around O Early Dinner Time Tuesday they drew a lot of attention and we started getting calls.
We’re told the helos were part of a National Guard unit conducting familiarization flights over the Bay Area, but then again that’s what they told Fox and Mulder on the X Files when they started nosing around.
Actually, larger squadrons of National Guard whirlybirds were in the skies over Sacramento and Sonoma last weekend, flying in support of anti-terrorism and active gunman drills held at those locations.
Stay curious, people.
