Investigators are hoping a $10,000 reward for information posted by the family of a Danville woman found murdered while housesitting at a farm home in Byron will prompt someone to provide the clue needed to find her killer.

The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office announced early Wednesday that Emily Courchesne’s family is offering the reward and urged anyone with information to contact investigators with what they know.

Courchesne was found on Friday the morning of Oct. 6, 2017, when deputies were dispatched to a “Medical – PD” call at a residence on the 24000 block of Marsh Creek Road in Byron.

Responding deputies found Courchesne dead inside the home – the residence of her aunt and uncle – and investigators later determined she had been shot. Detectives believe Courchesne was killed sometime between the night of Oct. 4 and the morning of Oct. 5.

Investigators have not identified any suspects and have not said whether they believe more than one person may have been involved in the crime.

Investigators are urging anyone with information on this case to call the Sheriff’s Office investigative division at 925-313-2600 or call anonymous tip lines at 925-313-1166 or 866-846-3592. Tips can be emailed to tips@so.cccounty.us.

  1. I hope this family gets the justice they deserve. Money will make people talk. I’m still curious who made the “Medical – PD” call. Someone was there.
