We noted this robbery as it happened during a busy night in Walnut Creek and Concord Tuesday night.
Sure enough, a local private investigator we know forwarded some video of what we are sure was a scary few moments for a young clerk – and he’s hoping someone will recognize this man.
At approximately 6:32pm (time stamp on video is not correct) a suspect armed with a box cutter entered the Glo Tanning Salon, 3116 Oak Road, Suite C, and threatened to harm the employee if she did not hand over all the money in the register.
After taking all the cash, the suspect helped himself to a few candies.
Suspect is a white male approximately 50-60 years old, 5’10-6′, about 180 lbs, with a gaunt face. Was likely wearing excessive clothing under his sweatshirt. Suspect may possibly lift weights and use the facilities to shower at local (Concord/Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill area) 24 Hr Fitness clubs.
Do not approach suspect, he is considered armed and dangerous.
Please contact the Contra Costa County Sheriff (911) or DeWitt Detective Agency (415-481-0550) with any information.
Dang. He even demands the coins. Guess he has to pay the parking meter.
If he’s showering at the local gyms and wearing excessive clothing, he’s homeless. Who else would want the coins and candy? Okay – I might take the candy too…
@Danielle – Good morning! Sure, we take pains to keep from stating the obvious but several readers have contacted us with personal knowledge of this man’s routine and potential whereabouts. As for the candy… depends on the type. We’d do just about anything for those little Heath bar bits.
Homelessness is not a crime. Right.
Poor girl.
Your twitter feed reader seemed to know where this guy hangs…..
Creeper
The candy swiping was a nice touch.
That poor salesgirl!!! I have been there and it is not good.
@Daniella – We’ve been there, too, and you’re right.
