One person was killed and another seriously injured in a two-car crash on Treat Boulevard Halloween night.
First responders descended on the scene on Treat between Sheppard Road and Cherry Lane when the collision was reported at 9:19 p.m. Investigators determined that a Ford sedan and a Toyota SUV were involved, and found the adult male driver of the Ford trapped inside the wreckage of his vehicle.
Officers said the driver of the SUV was located outside of his car with injuries described as “moderate.” The driver of the Ford died at the scene and the driver of the Toyota was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Witnesses report the Ford was traveling westbound on Treat Blvd at a high speed before entering the center divide, rolling several times, and entering the opposite lane of traffic where it was struck broadside by the Toyota. Officers from the WCPD Major Accident Investigation Team were called out to investigate the collision.
The final collision cause will be dependent on toxicology results from the coroner’s office, according to police.
