Pleasant Hill police Wednesday identified 23-year-old Vincent Wilson as the man who allegedly initiated a grinding chain reaction crash and pursuit from Sun Valley Mall on August 14.
Wilson is being sought for carjacking, kidnapping, felony evading and fleeing the scene of traffic collision where some of the involved parties suffered injury. Police said he is considered armed and dangerous.
Police say Wilson was behind the wheel of a stolen Dodge truck that morning when Martinez police spotted him and gave chase. Officers pursued the truck into Pleasant Hill but terminated the chase out of concern for public safety at about 7:19 a.m.
But, police say, Wilson allegedly continued running at high speed through the city until he crashed the truck at the intersection of Viking Drive and Contra Costa Boulevard, injuring a female driver and her 2-year-old child. The mother and child were taken by ambulance to the hospital where they were treated and released, police said.
Investigators said Wilson abandoned the totaled truck and carjacked a woman who was stopped in traffic, commandeering her Mercedes and driving her to Martinez where he eventually released her unharmed.
Police said Wilson is approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. He frequents the city of Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Concord and Walnut Creek.
Anyone with information concerning this incident or the location of the suspect, Vincent Wilson is encouraged to contact the Pleasant Hill Police Department Investigations Bureau at (925) 288- 4637.
I’m glad he doesn’t frequent the city of Lafayette. He sounds like a bad dude who would benefit from a lengthy prison sentence.
Wow, this guy needs to be locked up!
Maybe he’s in Atherton or Hillsborough. If I’m carjacking – I’m going in style. Why “settle” when you can go for the gold?
Amazing what damage these guys do out there.
@Jim – It is, isn’t it?
Armed with what???
Drive by a pleasant hill car with officers holding people at gunpoint in Pittsburg today — on Railroad? what’s going on???
@Christopher – Believe PHPD fell in behind a stolen car out that way and detained its occupants.
He sounds desperate. I think my “free meth for all” plan would have saved society a LOT of damage, on net. If he’s not on drugs, then we should lock him up for a very long time.
