We’re out and about, rocking the classics through Spotify and dodging potholes, stocking the larder in preparation of our newsroom Thanksgiving warmup banquet and this bluesy number worked its way into our heads like that worm in one of the hundred or so Star Trek movies they’ve made – and stuck.

Couldn’t get it out of there so we thought we’d share. Apparently The Zep doesn’t have an adequate video version of Levee, so we found this… and liked it.

Sometimes it takes a woman to do a man’s job…

  4. Respectable cover and I enjoyed the woman playing blues harp. Of course there’s an original recording of the song by Kansas Joe McCoy in Memphis Minnie floating around on YouTube. I recommend taking a look at that to get an idea of the song’s roots.
