Tree Topples Power Pole, Blocks Donald Drive In Orinda Sunday

SHARE

No one was hurt but the sound of this tree coming down – and splintering an adjacent power pole – got the attention of neighbors on Donald Drive in Orinda Sunday.

Power is out to the area with about 75 homes unable to watch the Forty Niner game (tied at 20 all, currently, if you’re reading this on your phone). The tree toppled at around 1:25 p.m.

PG&E estimates that their crews will have power restored by 5 p.m. and city crews are busy turning that tree, and what’s left of the power pole, into kindling.
